Dancer Risk Assessment (DRA) - free yourself from dancing injuries
Dancer Risk Assessment (DRA)
The Dancer Risk Assessment (DRA) Program is a comprehensive assessment method to assess and determine each individual dancer risk of getting injuries from the training method and dance routines.
Dancers are susceptible to multiple injuries due to the physical repetitive work and stress put on the muscles, joints and body. Without knowing their own limits, ultimately the dancer will unwittingly push themselves into serious injuries.
The DRA program is a proven method developed by Physiowerkz based on its experience in dealing with dancer injuries to come out with a comprehensive risk profile of each individual dancer. Specifically, it maps out the body limits for common dance movement routines and identify problems area for injuries. The dancer will then be able to shape their dance training to avoid getting into such injuries specific to them only.
The DRA also identify possible key latent issues not known or developed until that particular movement or repetitive training starts. At that point, the onflux of injury becomes a full blown issues causing major issues such as inability to train or permanent damage to a dancing career.
The DRA is a single session assessment performed by qualified trained members of Physiowerkz to provide the complete DRA profile of the individual.
The DRA philosophy
The Physiowerkz DRA program is designed to give a complete map of the dancer risk profile towards possible injuries for that individual. It is helpful for the dancer or the dance instructor or parents of children who are taking up dancing.
With the DRA profile done, the dancer or the dance instructor or the parents can map out training, workout or change routines to avoid getting into such injuries for that individual based on their DRA profile.
The dancer can also make use of the Physiowerkz Dance BodyCondition System (DBC) - specially developed to work on the profile of the DRA such that a specific fitness training for dancing is designed so that the dancer can achieve the necessary strength, flexibility, conditioning and movement required for their dance but without doing the wrong exercises and getting injured. The DBC do not replace any dancing training but is a powerful complement to developing right kind of exercises to improve dance training safely for all kind of dances.
The combined DRA and DBC produce a sure safe way to train as a dancer and to avoid injuries while finding the right way to develop the necessary strength, balance, coordination, stability and flexibility necessary for any good dancer of any dance program.
